Hey everyone, i have a 98 ram with 221k on the dash, saw it as the perfect truck to rebuild. im wondering how much its goin to cost to rebuild the engine for starters as its pretty important. Next im looking at getting rust repair done, Its a quad cab and the very bottom of the doors have rust where water pooled up and one small spot on the passenger cab corner, rockers are solid, Any ideas on a general price im looking at to repair myself or if the job presents itself too difficult what a shops cost is

also can someone tell me how to delete posts, this one is sitting in 3rd gen on accident. didnt realize i chose the 3rd gen general discussion...

Little vauge with the details. Rust repair is more work than money. You say rebuild the motor. We talking oem rebuild or mild to wild build.

Engine is gunna be a minimum of $2k for a OEM build. You'll save money doing it yourself. As far as the body work, that'll be a lot more if you do the rust repair. I'd opt for getting replacement doors and painting them. You might be able to do the cab corner yourself. I'm not a body working guys so I'm not totally sure on the expenses there.
