Another 2nd gen

Rumors of a 12v for sale took a month to transpire. No contract info truck listed for sale no where.
Just a red 2nd gen with moulding on the bed wich means it 98 or older. Knock on the door. Lady says yes its for sale howd you know.

Long story shorter its now in my driveway did not talk or attempt to talk her down. It's a lat 98 24v 5 speed 230k miles

I helped her remove her passed away husband's stuff i got teary eyed as she choked up asking to hear the air horns one last time. Told her we will take care of it.
Dad and i are going to use it as a work truck flat bed fuel tank light towing duties. 3rd gen wheels duals gotta go. I have 3 3rd gen wheels the 4th has a crack.

Im over towing with pickups but dads fighting that idea id just assume work out of my f150 wich i do.

Needs some work little things pwwr seat wont go forward i can barely push clutch on where its at
Remove all air horn wireing. It has a exhaust brake

Dad might drive it way it is so ive rubbed the paint alittle to show him how good it can look even with its character. Shes actually shockingly sexy under the build up of water spots

Working on removing wireing about to yank all the stuff i remo ed from battery terminals. One harness looked very much like my airdog harness on my 02. Got under the truck and sure a ****

Verified it is working. Having this makes me confident in vp44s long lasting ability. Lift pump was one of the only mods i had planned other than cosmetics tires wheels etc stuff. Just need a gauge just ahead of vp44 to verify its over 10 and under 20. I run my 02 lift pump at 18. Ideal is over 14

Still working on stripping the hardwater off the paint


Exhaust needs help has the cat and huge trashcan muffler. Ive got 4" pipe and a muffler on hand. Have 5" pipe to but not feeling it for this thing. Being stock there will be nearly no benifit to 4" and none with 5" just noise.

Exhaust. Mirrors(has knob for power mirros), grill, headlight bulbs morimoto gtr or auxbeam. Need to pull my 3rd gen wheels out think i only have 3

Ohh and power seat switch i cant forget that. Im having a hard time even hitting clutch switch to start it.
Ohh driver seat foam and cover. Just did my 02 supper inexpensive and easy to refoam cover seat.

Pretty sure a control arm is rattling, oem control on these come apart at the ends

I dont like the vacumn actuaded front axle, chrysler went away from that in 2000 i think. On both jeeps and trucks. A one peice inner shaft fixes that

Seats are horrible compared to my f150 seats. Been toying with idea of putting ford seats in my 02 but everyone wants like 1200 bucks for decent seats

At just over 200k i expect she'll start wanting consumables like my 02 but thats no big deal.

So far shes being a fun truck to polish up.
