I know I am not alone in having my cruise control switch go bad. My dealer cheerfully replaced it, and it's working now.

I have a 2018 Laramie 1500 CC with 5.7L Hemi. My switch began to misbehave at about 8500 miles or so, and I'm at 11K now. I am curious about others' experiences - did the fixed switch keep on working for months, years ? Anyone on second or third replacement.

Sorry if there is a thread the my search missed.

Thanks for info.

Which switch of the four or the whole cluster? My cancel button does not work every time, maybe one in ten times it does not disengage the cruise control.

My cruise control switch began working intermittently and now completely does not function at around 100k miles.

Dealership said it needs a new switch at around $250 AND new wiring harness at around $250.

Ridiculous. Needless to say i'll be driving without cruise for the foreseeable future.

Mine was messed up and barely working. I took it to the dealer and they flashed my truck. It's worked flawlessly ever since

From experience with my Chrysler T+C, which has the same setup on the steering wheel, it could be the switch or it could be the clock spring. Does the cruise on/off work? Have you tried it immediately after starting the truck?
On my van, it would turn on when you started the car, but as soon as you turned the wheel or backed out of the driveway, the cruise light would turn off and the cruise switches failed to work. If the cruise button works immediately after starting, then turns off when turning the wheel, you will need to replace the clock spring. It is a somewhat expensive part, especially if you have a heated steering wheel.

If the cruise buttons don't work at any time(even immediately after starting), it probably needs a new switch. It should be something like $50 for the part if you look around, and is not a hard part to replace.

I've found the switch bank with gear select buttons for $70 ish and looks like I can do it myself. The steering wheel wiring harness looks to be $20ish but havent found a how too on that.

Supposedly it is the connection between them, so it could be one or the other. Seems to be working now again though.
