cup holder led lights?

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I'm looking to add led light stripes to the cup holder area in my dads 2010 ram. I have a 2002 and just hard wired them to my heated seat switches and they turn on and off with the lights.

Now my question is where would I hard wire these ones since he does not have heated seats. His is a regular cab with the flip down cup holders. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would just wire them to one of the cigerette lighter plugs with a switch
They will be on as long as the key is in the on position but who cares lol (switch would let you hit them off for any reason)

I put blue LEDs above my dads cup holders in his 11 this way, you don't even notice them in the day time

I'm just down the road from you too lol

I would throw a relay into the headlight switch in the cab, or the led up in the ceiling that shines down on your console so they only come on when it is dark.

Just tap off any wire that feeds interior lights when your parking lights are on. Switch will work but for a cleaner install find that wire and it will be fully automatic.

I agree, hardwired to come on automatically would be much cleaner.

My dads lights or just above to couple holders, underneath the edge where they flip out from, not much to really see

The "boss" has a chy 300 and the cup holders have an led light either on top or underneath them. The cup holder has what appears to be a slot that goes all the way around the cup holder just below the top and the led shines through the slot. I have a 2010 with a console and I checked with my parts guy and he said the cup holders are not interchangeable with the chy 300's. Just trying to get an idea of how you guys might have done yours.
