Well this post is just to show/update my truck, i havent been on in a while. Now laugh at my pain and comment any questions you have. My wheel bearings broke yay. And ignore the "goodbye beautiful" part I though my dad was gonna total the truck but I convinced him to let me fix it.

That sucks. I just replaced both wheel bearings with Moog parts from Rock Auto. The OEM ones had just over 200k miles on them and when I recently changed the brakes, I noticed they were dragging a little and starting to make some noise, so they got changed ASAP.

Hopefully the damage to the truck isn't too bad.

I actually started hearing the noise the day before and that day I was just takin my uncle to the airport then I was going to buy a pair of moog wheel bearing and change them. This happened at 11am on the drive to the airport. I was hardcore jinxed too, my friend asked me what happens if you don't change them in time the day before and I told him this and then I sent a picture to him when it did telling him I wasn't lying lol

They were original with 225k miles on them so I wasn't surprised, I honestly should have done something sooner

Damage was just the steering knuckle, brake line, caliper and fender. And since I rolled like 100 yards with no brakes the bottom bolt of the lower ball joint seized to the knuckle so I'm replacing the lower control arm entirely and just redoing both sides of the suspension again and while I'm at it the rack and pinion as well. I have to repaint the 2 doors cause the passenger one hit the fender when my uncle got out of it and took paint off and a screw flew and took a chunk of paint of the rear door. No dents though so just fresh paint and it'll be good

Yeah after this happened to me, I FIRMLY recommend changing them. And go to summit racing and look up part moog wheel bearings. Cheapest I've seen them so far for moog

To be honest I was extremely lucky. I heard it get louder so I pulled off the highway and got on the axis road and literally right when I got on axis road my tire came off. I was going about 40-50mph and saw my tire right next to my window in the air and watched it roll like half a mile down the street untill it went out of sight. I'm amazed my bumper not once touched the ground there's no scuff or scratch marks on the bottom of that lip. And since my caliper tore off with the wheel, I had no brakes and I rolled about 100 yards maybe more and stopped about a cars length away from a busy intersection

MOOG 515072 for the right side (no speed sensor) - $103.99
MOOG 515073 for the left side (with speed sensor) - 106.79

Those are the hubs you need with rear ABS only. RockAuto had the cheapest prices that I found and are what I quoted above. www.rockauto.com

Yeah but once you pay for shipping for rockauto it comes out to be about what you'll pay for summit with free shipping

It was cheaper for me from rockauto. Guess it all varies based on location which will be cheaper.

Wow that’s crazy! Glad you are ok

I’m done using hub bearings from rock auto. I’ve used the economy level on my wife’s G6, I’ve put 3 different hub bearings in over the last year and all 3 gave me issues with the abs sensors going out and losing ABS and traction control. Maybe you’ll have better luck with Moog
