Dealer oil change $59 bucks?

My truck is a 2016 ram 2500 with the 6.4 hemi engine.Stopped by my dealer this morning and checked about the price of a oil change with filter.They offer a special oil package deal if you buy 4 oil changes up front the price is $59 bucks per change Pennzoil 0w40 with mopar filter.Is this a fair price?

WOW! From everything I have seen that is a great price if they are actually using 0W-40 Pennzoil.

0w-40 (synthetic) oil change for $59 sounds like a deal to me.

My dealer quoted my wife's Dart (5qts of synthetic) for $79, oil change only. Monro muffler charged her $60 with a tire rotation. ($10/qt)

I imagine your 6.4L uses more oil too (7-8 qts).

My dealer quoted me about the same price but it has to be used within two years. It is a bargain if you put enough miles on but for me it wont work.
18 months old with 7800 miles.

North of you my regular price is $79 and $12 for rotation. Special price is $65 for oil change which is 7 qts of synthetic Mobil or Pennzoil with filter.

Be sure they are using full synthetic and it is a good deal.

Dealer stated it was FULL synthetic pennzoil.

The dealer I purchased from wants around $79 with a coupon on their website. Their "express lube" is always a 2+ hour wait so I took the coupon to a new dealer in my area and they honored it. Otherwise they wanted $119. So, yes, $59 is a GREAT deal.... I'd gladly take that deal and bring in every 6 months regardless of miles.

Agreed - all the dealers around here have an up-charge for many vehicles…6.4L included. That's a great price.

With stalking Amazon and Pennzoil rebates, I got mine down to about $48-$49. That's doing it myself, mopar filter, and spec'd Pennzoil 0W-40. Submitting rebates, oil/filter disposal, watching for oil sales, etc. all take time though.

As much as I dislike going to the dealer, for $10 more and the real deal, I'd probably pocket the time back into other things. Oh, and don't forget the front drive shaft grease point…I hit it every oil change while I'm under there.

While haggling with the dealer about the coupon I mentioned a couple posts ago he said something about a 6.4 Hemi in a Charger that had an $80 filter (his cost). He had to look to be sure my truck didn't have that. It doesn't but as people are shopping oil changes make sure you aren't getting dinged for that.

Even a couple years in there really aren't that many 6.4 Hemi trucks out there. The dealers sometimes need to be reminded what they are. I can somewhat understand - I only have one truck to think about but they have dozens of cars and trucks to keep straight.

Doing 7 quarts of Mobile1 from Walmart with a Mobile1 filter, I average around 50 bucks if I do it myself. That's a damn good price to not have to hassle with cleanup / oil recycle.

When I got mine changed last month they offered me buy 3 and get the 4th free. Normally $70 per change as the change before that. On my bill they had 4 oil changes for $150. I was expecting higher. I think they messed up and didn't calc the 4 changes for the 6.4 oil cost, but they have it in the system that I have 3 oil changes left at no cost.
