So, maybe some of you can chime in with some thoughts. I took my 2015 Mega Cab in because of two moderate leaks coming from the rear hub/axle seal areas on each side. Already had one axle seal replaced about 10K miles ago. Turns out, from this work order that they replaced each of the rear hub bearing seals on each side. OK Fine.
Since I drove my work truck (f150) to the dealership to get my 2500 paid out of jail before they close the service gates I parked my Ram in the customer lot. Here is where the problem comes in. I go to depress the parking break and the feel is 100% different than prior to me dropping off my truck. Before, as I pressed the parking brake with my left foot, it got fairly firm fairly quick. Now, when I depress the parking brake it feels very squishy, goes all the way to the floor (much further than I would have thought) and when depressed all the way to the floor will not hold my truck in place with it gear and no foot on the gas pedal. Moves especially easily when in reverse and P-brake fully bottomed out.
When they would have replaced the hub seals, what could they have done or what did they not put back together or adjust correctly to have the parking brake not work properly? Before I left, after I parked the truck in the customer lot I went back in and told the service writer and they made notes on both mine and their copies of the paper work from the seals repair and he signed and dated the notes. What do you think they did and what do you think may be the remedy? Any ideas would be awesome. Thanks
