So I went ahead and took my HEMI 5.7 badges off and I can see them in the paint. Any thoughts about what to do to besides put them back on?

Do you have a pic of what you are referring to?

If you mean the outline of the badge, run a little goo gone to wipe off the residue

When I took off my side badges you could still clearly tell where they used to be, but a few washes and a good detailing got rid of that

on darker colored cars the longer you wait to take the badges off the harder it is to take the ghost effect off.

Thanks everyone. I am going to try the clay bar later on today. Wait till the truck is in the shade and cool to the touch I would imagine. I will post a pic of before and after. Thanks for your help.

Exactly the reason my rides get De-Badged on Day-1
the longer you wait the longer the ghost hangs around,

So strip that beyotch instead of hanging onto a label
If Dodge doesn't pay you for advertising their name, then its Gone ! (IMHO)

Good lord that black ram looks amazing! It's time I debadge mine and get the headlight and tail light black outs. Now to figure out where to buy them and when that add on will take place! I'm saving for a spray in bedliner now so that will have to come later but I still need those. It looks amazing!

Eh, It looks alright, but I'm not sold on the sticky back velcro securing the bedliner. Nice suggestion though, it gave me something to think about, but I think in the end, I'll stick with Rhino Lining.

I just don't know yet, nor can afford either at this point. I think 2 more months of saving before I really start looking into either or.

This works great, when I debadged mine it looked pretty bad since they were on there for so long. Did a claybar/wax and now you can't even tell :)

I just finished debadging this Monday afternoon.

I just took some Meguire's Mirror Finish Polishing Compound to it, can't see a mark of where they where. Like always, let the product do the work, don't push down hard, just move it around.

I may be wrong here, and this is just my opinion, but I don't think clay bar really does anything to help with ghosting. Clay bar is to get contaminants and dirt off the surface of the clear coat. ghosting is not a problem of dirt or contaminants, but and uneven exposure to weathering and sun. Again, just my opinion, but i believe it is the waxing that gets rid of the ghosting because it brings the weathered faded areas around where the badges were back to their original luster.
