Use clay bar or polish to verify, you can look under hood to make sure you don't have cancer, very rare. If it is true, it was a defect in the primer or prep, happens sometimes. Too bad you didn't notice it sooner, I think 5 years was your paint warranty.

Is the sport hood aluminum like the standard hood?

Similar to this? Thinking about trading her in soon so I’m not too worried but would like to know what I could do if I wanted to.

I've got the same issue in the middle of the driver fender.
I've taken it in to complain about it when I was in for an oil change, they took pictures and said they would call me. Few months go by and I go in again for an oil change and got the same run around and the service manager said he would look into it and I never got a call from him even after leaving a few voicemails.
I'm guessing the dealer is trying to wait out the paint warranty

Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Complain loud and clear including a written note to the Customer Service at FCA which is in your owners manual. Regardless, I would suggest all who see this thread spray some Krown (or equivalent) in these high prone rust areas. This includes taking the tail light lenses off (2 torx screws) and spraying between the inner and outer panels.

My brother and i both had 2013's with this fender corrosion issue. The dealer changed the fenders at no cost (in 2017). There is a mylar patch on the inside surface of the fender that traps water and causes the fender to rust from the inside out. The patch is there to add rigidity to the fender. The hood issue is different, its an aluminum issue. Several manufacturers are dealing with this long term and are making process changes to prevent it from occurring.
