Dented tailgate

I have a dent on the outside of my tailgate and the inside dent is really bad. I’ve been looking for a used tailgate but can’t find one. Anyone have recommendations for aftermarket that won’t blow the bank?

I would check allmoparparts.com. They are a vender here. Rockauto may have one not sure or I would look at a pick and pull. LKQ is a good place to get good parts.

Thanks! I prefer to pull off a truck. I’m concerned with buying an aftermarket and it being really thin or paint won’t match

Im running an aftermarket hood from CARiD and its been a great hood. Its been on my truck 5 years with no issues. As long as you get someone who can paint an aftermarket one is fine. Just make sure you get a good quality one. Let me check and see what I can find.

That is for better grade. You would have to switch all of your stuff over.

Ok, I’ll take a look at that one. Anyone know how much I could expect to pay to paint it? I can assemble everything but would need to get that one painted.

I honestly dont know. I know to paint my bumpers, hood, door handles and grill and knock out a few dents was 8k. That was also 2016 prices.

One thing I used to do back in the day was check the local college/vo-tech for body shop classes. All I had to pay for was the supplies.

When I bought my ‘14 Longhorn it had a small dent in the tailgate. I negotiated it in to the sale and the dealer’s in-house body shop fixed it and repainted it.

A repair may be cheaper than replacing is what I’m getting at…

TNram, just plan on $500 minimum to do just the tailgate, more if you have them blend into the quarter panels.
