Wow, allot of good info throughout this thread. I thought I took pretty good care of my cars, but keeping them washed and hand waxed when needed.
In reading these posts, I realize I'm only doing like 25% of what is needed. Oh boy! ;)
I guess I'll keep reading these posts and some other info on how to properly detail a truck and try to do some of this other stuff. i.e. clay bar, polish, sealant...and the list grows....I don't even know what half that stuff is... ha ha :nutkick:

Anyway, thanks for the good info and looks like I have some work to do on my truck and the wife's BMW.

Ha! So you've "seen the light," so to speak?!?

Don't feel overwhelmed. Do the processes you feel comfortable with. After all, as long as your vehicles look good to YOU, that's all that really matters!!

You will be surprised at the huge number of "experts" that post about their very own "best" way of doing things. The amount of information about detailing can put you on overload in a hurry. Everyone has their own favorites but after reading through the information you will be able to identify some of the products that will work well for you in your particular situation. Look here and at other forums, including autopia and autogeek. IMHO--some of the cheap stuff is just that--cheap stuff. Some of the realllllly expensive stuff--is just a name wanting to take your money. There are some really good products that are reasonable in price that do a good job. Usually(???) products used by true professional detailers are really good however some have a learning curve to be used successfully.

I see you are in Orlando, head over to autogeek and sign up, they do some Thursday night details where you get to play hands on with equipment and products and work on some cool cars. I was on vacation and stopped in one night. I got to play with the new line of Rupes polishers and a new line of coatings. All free!
