Have a 2019 Classic and trying to make display brightness the correct level for me at all times - blinding in auto mode during day but good at night or the other way around in manual mode. I can select manual mode and adjust display brightness headlights off but not on (see pic). Grayed out. Is there a way to activate this feature?

Tried with headlights off and on and with engine off and on with headlights off and on and makes no difference.

Your dash dimmer controls brightness at night. It has a detent for full brightness to the right.

Yes, I'm aware of the dimmer switch. However, the screen is too dark with headlights on unless dimmer switch is rotated all the way to the right, then the screen is too bright.

Have you tried the auto setting?

If you are referring to the auto setting on the screen that you can see in the photo above, yes. That is perfect at night but extremely bright during the day - like someone is shining a flashlight in my face lol. Very distracting.

That is the trick! Yes, the manual brightness can be adjusted as long as the dash light adjuster wheel is all the way on dim. What a stupid design. Thanks guys!

I've had my truck for seven years and never knew this either. Makes me wonder how bright it will get now...

Agreed, stupid design. Very counter-intuitive. Glad it fixed the issue for you though.
