Decided to start a new thread with proper title so easy find for those looking.
For those who don't know me, I've been looking into headers for the Ram for quite some time now. For my build and purposes all of my research lead to the original MP 1 5/8" headers being the best header I could get for max efficiency on a stock longblock with bolt-ons. Those MP headers are still available, but 1500.00 USD and mild steel, although they are triple nickle plated. Still a hard pill to swallow if there's something just as good for a fraction of the price.
My definition of max efficiency;
Increase in Efficiency where every mod increases performance while also increasing fuel economy and towing capability. I know, 99% will tell you it's not possible, well it is, just most don't take the time to figure it out and just go with the crowd most of the time.....
On to the headers. I got mine from this vendor https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
Not listed as DNA but they are DNA headers, same as several vendors on ebay and you will clearly be able to tell by the pics because they are identical. Mine were 195.00 free shipping at the time.
I had looked at ever header available, and companies just don't make a practical header any more for anything other than 1/4 mile drag racing. 90% had wrong flange all together, too large pipe diam and most mild steel, which I will never buy because they just won't last up north in the climate around here.
I will say that Pace setter 1 3/4" ceramic coated were prob my next best choice. If they made that header in 1 5/8" and SS I would have bought them years ago.
So it was very fortunate when I crossed paths with another forum member, Max1329 who was already running these DNA headers, although he had got them from another vendor and his is 2WD.
Always appreciate when you can get first had info from a reliable source! just the fact that he noticed an immediate ease of low end accel told me TQ increase where you want it, which is exactly what they should do, being the correct cross section.
I emailed DNA, but they couldn't confirm whether they would fit 4x4, so a month ago I finally decided to be the guinea pig.
When the headers showed up they didn't disappoint. Expectations were actually high, even though only a 200.00 set of headers because pics and info looked so good online, And, because I knew someone who had been running them for some time with zero issues and loving them!
clp pics over all, including the original 1 5/8" MP headers for comparo.....
