Im new to the forum and I've seen bunch of plenum post but non like my situation..I think. Its 1994 2500 5.9 with 213xxx miles that I bought 2 weeks ago. It ran pretty good when I got it and the next morning I cranked it up and it smokes pretty bad for about a 1/2 mile then stops. The guy told me it had new heads and you can tell they've been taken off before cause theyre like new clean. From what I've seen on the plenum post that bottom piece of metal is completly black but mines not, just on the drivers side. If you wouldnt mind take a look and tell me what yall think, thanks. :boobs:

Dat Cummins!
It looks like somebody did a poor job of cleaining it properly. If it were me I would take it off and clean it until it was spotless. It can't hurt anything thats for sure!!!

I can't recall the name of it, but most shops have the carbon removal systems now. We did it on our vehicles at work and it made a night and day difference.
