I know they were at one time, but my guess is that these manufacturers made "improvements" and were able to convince the EPA to reduce the warranty period. By improvements I mean they likely wrote a big fat check to someone.

They're wear items and they're going to fail. They probably provided an analysis that showed the highest failure was between 10k-50k miles and convinced the EPA to reduce the mandated warranty coverage.

I see that mine says 5yr/100,000 miles powertrain. I dont know what all is considered powertrain for warranty purposes. this is the only dsl I have owned.

Emissions Warranty is separate.

Used to be that long, but my truck is a 2020 and it says 50,000 miles. I was surprised they had lowered the mileage to 50,000.
Federal Emissions warranty is still the same 8yr/80K mile on components even for latest 2024 model year

Powertrain is Motor and transmission(mechanical), not to include any electronics associated with that. And emissions are separate.

Nope. Go on Mopar website and register your vehicle, create your profile with your VIN, you can look up anything about your vehicle.

Just looked, my 22 CTD also says 5/50 for emissions.

I am almost positive my 2017 had 80,000. That's why I was kinda shocked to see only 50,000 on the '20.
That's a big drop.

Actually, in looking back at those charts... it "appears" that on the 2016 specified components are 8/80 and everything else is 5/50 like ours. I'm not clear as to what specifically falls under each category. I assume the DPF might fall into the 8/80 but I really don't know.

The emission warranty on mine called it something like...exhaust system with catalyst.

hey all - Related drama. My 2020 3500 just went into the shop. After many many regen issues (several SW flashes, EGR valve, forced regens, replaced air filters), it has failed and the charge is $2500 to replace. This is not covered by RAM warranty (after basic 36k mi) nor my extended warranty. My truck is 300 mi short of 60k. This sucks. 80% of my miles are pulling a trailer. I show under 20% idle on the dash. I think there is a flaw. We need to count up the DPF fails on this forum and see if we have a case as a group.
I agree. 2019 3500 dually with 6.7 HO. I get a nearly constant regen. Multiple dealer stays, multiple parts replaced (pressure sensor hoses, turbo inlet hose, air cleaner, EgR cooler, MAF sensor). Not under warranty. RAM just keeps suggesting to replace parts even though all current parts meet specs. I’ve run it with/without Jake brake, downshifting, towing 14k trailer. DPF % starts to rise after about 40 miles, goes into regen after another 45 miles. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Tired of paying for RAM troubleshooting by exchanging expensive parts. STAR case has been opened for awhile. @ram, how about you come up with a solution!
