I was perusing the Amsoil site. I am interested in the dual bypass setup.

BMK23 seems to be the PN for the dual mount etc.
I'm confused on which adapter to use. EaO11 is the filter listed, but I don't see an adapter listed to work with that.

Per some research (WixFilters.com) the Hemi has a 22X1.5MM thread, which makes me think the BK299 is the correct adapter.

Can I get your input in this?

Also, I'm look to run the 100% Synth with the intent of 25,000 intervals.
From what I am reading, if I use the Amsoil filters, this should be a 25k no maintenance interval. This seems 'too good to be true'.

Is it recommended to send off for oil analysis ever X thousand miles?

Thanks in advance!

Your research is very accurate. I had to actually do some digging to verify it. I'm used the the diesel kits and had to brush up on the BMK23. I'm sure you noticed they didn't have the EaO11 listed on the install sheet, but is the same thread as the 47.
So, all you need is the kit, that adapter, and your choice of filters. The ful flow can be either the EaO15 or the 26. The 26 is larger and the one that comes on the diesel kits. Then the bypass filter is either the EaBP90, 100, or 110.
Since the gasser won't create near the "contamination" the diesel does, the 15 and the 90 filter will work just fine, will be smaller if space is cramped and be a bit cheaper.

As for the changing intervals, yes they do back a 25k interval....with restrictions. This is "normal" highway driving. If there is a lot of stop and go, short driving distances, dirt roads, etc. Usually not typical, so in these cases that limit is 15k.
Now with this bypass, it could be a whole new thing. The 15 or 25k limit is still there unless testing is done. Typically you could go farther, but some don't want to mess with that. If you install the kit, it will definitely help extend.
I have actually ran my cummins up to 28k before I changed it. Testing came back good. If someone did go farther than the 15 or 25, you still need to change that full flow filter at recommended intervals, which is 15 or 25 depending on conditions.
I'll PM a price on the unit so you have it.

Why it's used in the diesels primarily is for finner filtration to keep soot levels down. These bypass filters are 98% absolute efficient down to 2 microns and 39% at 1 micron. Soot typically ranges from 1 to 5 microns, so they are almost considered soot removing filters although the oil still stays black. It helps the oil last longer and stay cleaner. A regular oil filter is typically 98% absolute efficient in the 20-25 micron range. Our Ea filter get down to 15 micron. That's about as low as you can get on a full flow filter. The bypass filter runs oil thru much slower and is able to have a finner media. They say most engine damaging particles over the long haul range in the 5-20 micron size. Some may discount that, but that's the "plug" behind using a bypass system.
They are nice to have and would be a benefit for any engine, but it's really not necessary unless someone wanted to extend their drain intervals. Semis use them quite a bit. They can go from 20-30k intervals to upwards of 100k. That's a lot less downtime for them.
Hope that explains a little?

I have seen the Bypass filters on Dixie Choppers when they used to use them. Deff kept the oil cleaner, they used the 90s filters.

I do not drive extended periods on the highway (typically) so I would fall into the 15k mile changes. This isn't a 'bad' deal, but it's also not 'great' by any means. It's a hefty price for 'peace of mind'. With a 15k oil/full flow change, can I change the bypass at the 45k change? Or is it really recommended to change it ever other change?

On a gasser it's probably very possible. What's nice about the bypass filter is even if it gets totally full the other is still working. So what some have done is go by feel. If it starts to feel cooler on comparison to the full flow filter it's probably pretty full.

Hmmm, this information has made me somewhat rethink doing this. I'll be in touch (PM) if I want to move forward. Thanks for all the detail Heath!
