Question for anyone who did this conversion. I know when you install quads when you have the high beam on both lights don't come on like there suppose to.
My question is is there not a difference between high and low now? Does the high beam still shoot out far like its supposed to? Is there any loss of light? Any complaints about it at all?

Im afraid to do this conversion and not have the light output i want. Im not interested in modding them just yet. I wanna install them than down the road have jj customize them with hids. For now though just the headlights.
Thanks

right spot. :D

I haven't personally seen the difference in the swap, but I'd venture a guess and say that high beams are still not going to be "amazing". Do you use your highs a lot?

If you use your highs a lot and they suck like mine, throw a set of hid hella 500s and a set of KC 130watt daylighters and say hello to the sun:naughty: on top of the hid lows and fogs:D

I swapped duals for quads (thanks jj) and replaced the stock bulbs with silverstar ultra's. The output isn't any better, but I like the looks of the quads more than the duals. Some day the lights will go back to jj for a retro fit.

I plan to do a full hid and custom paint by jj after i swap the quads in. But since laying down money for both right off the back isn't going to happen i wanted to aleast rock the good looking quads for a couple months before i had jj do his magic. My duals blow and i use my highs often. I was hoping i could get away with the swap and maybe some aftermarket bulbs for now til i get the money to mod them. Is it do able at all?

well everyone pretty much said about the quads. I like the look better. Stock bulbs in the highs they are aimed exactly in the same postion ad the lows. I kept my highs halogen mostly because of the flash to pass option. HIDs won't fire full brightness as needed for flashing the highs and flashing HIDs isn't that good.

You answered one of my original questions. I wanted to know of highs had a different aim to them. Farther and wider direction. Guess not.

So as far as swapping them to quads, when i hit the highs they'll do absolutely nothing? No change at all whatsoever over low?

I wouldn't say there is no difference when you switch to highs with quads but it's def not as good as it should be.

Sounds like they'll be worse than my duals because i don't have that option to have high and low at same time. I wish it wasnt a programming problem. Prolly end up doing it anyways and it'll just force me to customize them quicker.

programming.

On the dual equipped trucks, power is not sent to the low beam wires when the high beams are hit. Only 1 filament stays lit at a time on the H13 bulb. SO...when you swap the duals to quads, the low beam goes off when you hit the highs. What sucks......the HIDs are on the low beam circuit, so - off they go.
