Looking at a 1500 Laramie - Sport. It's has everything I want. However, it also has these low-walled looking tires on a 20'' wheel. Question is, can I just get the truck and get bigger walled tires later, or do I risk losing space because it's a 'sport'...would it need raise? I assume with these tires, the ride will be more bumpy than not.

First truck, so pls forgive the dumb question if so.

Most owners who want more sidewall go with the 18" wheel. If you are set on the 20" wheel size, going up one size in tires will slightly increase your sidewall. What size are the tires in the photo?

If it's a 21 on 20" rims, it is likely 275/55/20. I picked this 21 BigHorn up on Friday and have similar questions as the OP. What size can I bump to without lifting-I nhad my fill of lifting with my Tacoma, so I am just looking to increase clearance via tires. 275/60/20? 275/65/20? I need to replace the tires by the end of summer anyways as these summer tires don't cut it too well around here.

The listing says 275/55R20 OWL All Season. But so do other sport 1500s that, in pictures, don't look that thin.

I detest a pickup with low profile tires.
Most of them ride poor on rough roads and dirt roads.
The traction sucks on anything except dry smooth pavement.
My last 2 previous pickups came from the factory with wide low profile rubber.
They couldn't hardly move on wet grass if not in 4wd.
My 02 Dakota had a worthless wide tire and I went with 245/75r16's on it,
then my 15 EcoDiesel had the low profile 20's on it and I swapped to 17's with 245/75r17's
after the changes both trucks had better traction and rode better.
My current 2019 cam with the 18" tires 275/65r18's they are doing ok, they are wider then I prefer
and I'm not sure of what size I will be setting up for the snow tires this coming winter.
A 255/70r18 is the same OD so it is a consideration, the 265/70r18 is about a half inch taller.

Same-prior to this the largest set of rims I had were 16.5 on 3/4 Dodges.
That said, if I bump an inch to 275/60/20 or 2 inches to 275/65/20(if they fit) and go with D or E rated tires, they'll work fine for general use and light offroad stuff. I outgrew the throwing money at rims years ago so I'm stuck with these.

I need to buy a second set of rims anyways for my snow tires for any and all my vehicles.

I believe the OP has 22” wheels, hence the low profile. You can reasonably go 1 size taller w/o any rubbing issues. Problem is that you are really limited to options with 22” tires and the next size taller brings you into heavy duty tire which adds significant weight.

I have been hearing a lot about a rubber shortage so you might want to act fast. Tires might be super expensive soon.

Funny thing is I stopped by the Line-X place today and they are in a nationwide shortage of spray stuff for beds.

I only did that when I lived in AK and they didn't use salt. Here in NH, they salt the heck out of everything so the roads get cleaned off pretty quickly-ran Wildpeaks all last winter. Dedicated studded snow tires on their own set of rims are nice though.

I hope this does not delay my build, I ordered the factory spray in bed-liner.

Go with 275/60/20's . That's a safe size for your application.
