I've got a rechargeable Maglite on order that I plan to install somewhere close to the drivers seat. I hate using the lighter plug adapters so I'd prefer to hard wire it in somewhere. I haven't messed with anything other than the stereo so far, is there a constant (non ignition activated) 12v source near the drivers seat that I could tie in to without causing an issue with the truck?

You could always tie into the constant cig lighter. I'm not sure if ur truck has both bit mine has ignition acc and constant acc.

Also, how often would you use the light? Wouldn't it "over-charge" it if it was constantly charging 24/7... I'd want to put it on ignition and if that's the case then there's a hot wire under drivers seat.

Never had an issue with them overcharging. I had one in my car (constant on) for 8 years and it held up great. They aren't the brightest out there but they'll take a beating like no other.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1396196328.921668.jpg the cig lighter in the console is always on, not sure about access but it shouldn't be to hard. Or run power through where the blue wire in the pic is and tie into the fuse box under the hood, I'd run a inline fuse for this though. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1396196422.253566.jpg
