I had a 2013 Ram 2500 that had all deletes and programmer. I totaled the truck but kept the programmer.
My question is:
I’m about to buy another 13 Ram and I’m curious if the programmer is all that I need to delete the EGR or if I need to buy a certain kit?

Thanks

As long as they are the same as the pre-DEF 6.7s like mine, look up the California style EGR delete. It retains the EGR cooler but removes the actuator for the EGR. If it was me i would buy a real EGR delete kit and get rid of that ugly EGR cooler, IMO they look a lot cleaner and much more like the 5.9 when done. Also by removing the cooler you have one less thing to worry about leaking and being expensive to replace

Also, for what its worth, my truck threw a bunch of EGR codes when the EGR was deleted and the DPF was still intact

And lastly, i think there is a good chance of the DPF plugging up and leaving you stranded if you are running the delete tune, because the truck will never go into regen mode

The 2013 RAM 2500 is not a "pre-DEF" system. The tuner you had should be good for the new truck but you may need to get an EGR block kit and exhaust modification. I guess it depends on whether you had the DPF removed on the old one. Some tuners will allow you to leave the EGR in the truck and delete the appropriate codes. You can get the pipe and EGR block kits for less than $300 total.
