I see a lot of companies offering CCV delete kits, but I’m a little unclear on the process. Do you actually need to gut the CCV filter, or can you just keep running the old filter with the kit? Should you replace it with a new filter first and then use the kit? I’ve read about guys gutting the filter, but it seems like people do one or the other. S&B doesn’t mention anything about gutting or even changing the existing filter. I’m due for service soon and looking for advice on the best way to handle a ccv delete 6.7 cummins setup.
Thanks for any info!

This is a re-route kit not a delete kit. Not sure on the non-diesels (can't tell what you drive) but on the diesels, there is a separate filter under the top cover. What the product you are showing is taking the ccv output and instead of routing to via hose to the intake, it just throws it out into the atmosphere. These can be used with or without (or gutted) CCV. My bro-in-law has one of these and it blows crap all over when he is hauling heavy (about 80% of the time). And with the dirt roads we do, it is

The true delete kits are a baffled system that sits in place of the CCV fliter. I can' find any right now but of course they have to be billet and not composite/plastic and they want $$$
