Hi guys! Ok who is the sherlock holmes of electrical? I finally got my truck ive always wanted. 2005 Ram 1500 5.7. I got her from an auction with unknown issue. That's how I got her cheap cheap. But the downside is you have no way to find out what issue they were dealing with. Put key in she lights up and turns over but doesnt fire up. I found numerous wires coming from what appears to be the main harness running next to the battery. Bunch of small thin wires. The access hole running the wires into the cab by the steering wheel is off and clearly freshly exposed. Also in the drivers side fender well you can see the same wires exposed that are cut and fresh access were someone was tinkering in the fender area of the wires, and then clearly unplugged harness at the bottom of the fender that runs into the back of the truck...tranny maybe? Pictures attached...any ideas at all what these connect to or why they would maybe do this?

Looks like a mess.

For me, I would find out where those wire went too and buy new harnesses and connectors.
Looks like something was installed or spliced in and then taken out.

Yikes! Maybe find a buddy that has a similar truck and go apples to apples. Worst case scenario, get a painless wiring harness.I know there are on here that complete wiring diagrams they can share with you as well.

Thanks, I looked at a 2008 model, looks like the harness runs down the fender well and hooks into the connector in the picture and probably goes to the fuel pump. We mainly do 18 wheelers where I work and my guys would call this a chassis harness but google doesnt seem to pull up dodge calling it that.
