For anyone with a jump seat or looking to swap to one, I found this issue because when someone would lean on the right side of my jump seat, the radio would change inputs. It's been driving me nuts for months for a couple reasons. First, it took me forever to figure out that leaning on the jump seat is what caused the input change, second, it wouldn't happen all of the time. I got so tired of dealing with it to the point that I took out the jump seat a couple days ago. I got to testing the wires, and I find a whole connector that was faulty. So I remove the harness from the jump seat and remove all of the tape/insulation to find this.

4 of 8 wires completely cut through, and the insulation on the ground wire is gone. This was at the point in the harness where the jump seat hinges up and down. Easy to fix, but PITA to find, and no indication of damage from the outside. My assumption is that the wire ends were just held together by the electrical tape insulation, and leaning on the jump seat shifted the wires to cause the issues I was having.

I would recommend checking the wiring harness before you swap, or as some preventative maintenance, adding some extra insulation to the harness at that hinge point. Hope this helps.

I had the same issue but I haven't opened up the old harness to inspect the wires (just replaced with a spare I had laying around). Started years ago, just got around to replacing it a few months ago. My original fix was disconnecting the AUX inputs at the back of the radio in the main harness.
