I'm having weird electrical problems with my truck. My wife, Cris, and I are planning to head for Central High, Oklahoma from Shelton, Washington next month (September). I'm trying to get everything ready, which usually is a quick and simple task. However, not this time. Last Friday, I took the truck to the RV shop to have the hookup checked. Everything but the running lights worked. I was told that everything worked for them. When I got it back I checked all the fuses, inside and out, and all were good. Now the problem is that I can't turn the running lights out unless I remove the #8trailer light fuse under the hood in the engine compartment. Any suggestions?

Can you hook up another trailer and see if the problem repeats? If yes, it is an issue with the truck. If it does not repeat it is a problem with the trailer. First thing I would do is to clean all the contacts in your truck's plug with a fine file and contact cleaner. Then take the ground off and clean up all the connections points.

Good luck.
