Changed Crank & Camshaft Sensors, ECT Sensor, Alternator, Plugs & Wires, Fuel Pump, Ordered a MAP Sensor & a ECM / PCM. I’ve looked over the electrical and Vacuum Hoses and found none unless I am missing something. Will know a little more when I change the, MAP & ECM, Unless it’s the, Throttle Positioning Sensor, Etc. Any ideas or info would be a great help. I have a 96 King Cab 2 WD I’ve been working on but this 04 is a beast! Thanks. BC

with a more clear description of when it stalls. What are the conditions, if any, that occur before the stall?

Good Day,
Yes Sir,
I may have missed something, I changed the Throttle Body as well,The Air Idle Control is in it, It stalls when slowing mostly but at times may do it at a steady slower speed if you let off the pedal just a bit and is intermittent as well, However when it rains it seems to be worse. It throws no codes and has no visible ones, I have also used a can of sea foam in the fuel, as I mentioned about the fuel positioning sensor in which I mean the one on the pedal. I’ve not checked or changed it as my thinking it being something closer to the motor, As it warms up or rains it seems to be worse. When it stalls there are no codes and you can shift into neutral and it will start right back up, you can continue until it stalls again. At times it seems as if it’s not running just right, You can apply pedal and it will straighten up. If you crank it just to sit and idle it runs smooth with no problems. I bought it from a man who said it had set up for a while, As I cleaned a good bit of debris and it seems most water etc from where it had been sitting looks as if a great bit of water went down and in beside the ECM, One of the reasons I ordered it. Most shops want about as much to flash it as I can order a plug & play ECM already programmed, Just remove the old one and install the new one. Any information I might be missing would greatly be appreciated! Thanks. BC

I would start by checking all the connectors at the PCM and the TIPM. I might be off base a bit but if the problem gets worse when it is raining, (high humidity) it makes me think that there might be corrosion someplace. Corrosion, especially moist corrosion can act as a conductor, especially with the low voltages that we see in the control systems.

Good Morning Ram Manz,
To all guys that responded, Beyond changing all the parts that have been done which also include, Plugs & Wires which I don’t remember if I documented. Anyhow, This week I cleaned every ground except one right behind the throttle body on the block however I removed the, Fuse Block and checked for any corrosion symptoms from the bottom and on the pins and found nothing to lead me to believe that was a issue, I didn’t separate just cleaned up the pins and siliconed any gaps in the plastic wrap on the harness plugs, Cleaned “All” Grounds and also Power Supplies. I’m waiting on a ASD Relay and will change it when it arrives. I’ve reassembled everything yesterday evening and restarted yesterday afternoon and let it idle for a while, It ran about the same maybe a little better as it idles great. I have ordered a, “Pre Programmed PCM/ ECM Just Plug & Play“ however I really don’t think it is the problem as I did a brake check pumping the brakes several times and the rpm’s never dropped and the truck didn’t try to stall, That led me to believe the vacuum was decent there. I also did a steering lock to the left and right turning the wheels and had no change in rpm’s or did it try to stall, So that cuts out steering strain. Anyhow, I will drive it this morning and see what’s up. Thanks to all trying to help me with this, “ 04”, I have a 96 SLT I’ve redone which is a jewel however this 04 is just wanting to be a little hard to deal with but I’ll get there, Going to get the windows tinted today then next will be the headliner and so on, You guy’s know! Then the seats and carpet and so on! At least the exhaust is done. Thanks. BC
