Filled up again today and the ****** stalled on me. Im pretty shocked there's no DIY for this delete.

Dont worry Ill make one this week. as im not spending money replacing that useless garbage...lol. Just like my JK ill delete the codes in HP tuners and see if there's anything in Alpha ODB I can also disable.

Well this was easy. Had everything on hand in the shop :birgits_tiredcoffee

- Cut a bolt and RTVed it into the line before the purge valve under the battery.
- Installed a marine breather in the existing cab hole.
- Cut into the line after the canister and RTVed the T into the line.
- Deleted all the nonsense evap garbage in HP tuners.
-no codes so far, will keep you guys posted.

Finally got around to finishing my delete , still had issues at some pumps cutting out trying to fill up. So like any sane person I cut out the useless parts.

the evap canister is T'ed back into the tank and on the return linrle. So my little breather is venting the tank constantly now, but some fumes might still get caught in the canister ...lol... :anitoof: :birgits_tiredcoffee

This should solve my slow filling problem.

Little update :anitoof:

Took the rest of it out today. Wanted to be sure it would work before going straight to this step.

It's just venting thru the filler neck now. Also removed my marine vent as it wasn't needed once the canister was removed.

Hopefully my little experiment will help someone else that doesn't give a flying **** and doesn't want to buy a new canister :hat:

Having this fill issue, but don't understand your final solution.
Is the evap canister the long black box? Can I by-pass that thing?
Can I blow any blockage out of it with an air compressor?
Love your pics, but don't know what I'm looking at.
Where did you get info on what all that tank crap is? Thanks!

Eight different vehicles personally owned….and a dozen more in the family…all with Evap equipment…and None of them Ever gave a moment’s bit of trouble.
Good luck with that jury-rig.

Tell me you dont have a clue how HP tuners works without telling me. Its not a jury-rig when you literally diable the junk in the ECU.

And if you search this forum , you'll see tons of people with fill issues on early Gen 4s

But thanks for that insightful post. And the fact your from Texas and have an opinion on how these trucks have fill issues when it -40 is some epic mental gymnastics.

The 3/4 line is hooked up directly to the factory 3/4 line to the fuel neck.
The 3/8 line is hooked up to the front and back of the tank, its just to equalize pressure when filling.
That other 1/2 line in the picture is my breather for my rear diff, T-Case and Trans. I bring those back to the front of the engine and install them higher then the air filter since I like water crossings when I off-road.
All factory EVAP lines were plugged with a bolt and RTV . To lazy to remove them...lol...
The rest is all removed. And HP tuners to disable it.

Ill get a better picture next time I have my truck on the lift.

Wow. Didn’t mean to Trigger-You with Good Luck wishes. (and BTW, plenty of Texas travel to cold areas. I’ve spent seveal years in B.C. and know what cold is.)
Hope you can get over your anger-mgmt.

Wow! Seems like an awful lot of work to fix this "problem" that only you have. There's a bazillion of these trucks out there that have the exact same EVAP system and you're the only one who figured out the solution to a non-existent problem. ;)
