Has anyone else have a problem with tires. I have a 2014 Ram 1500 crew cab 4x4 with stock 20” rims. Truck has just over 51000 adult driven miles. I bought the truck used with 17,000 miles. The Goodyear’s that it came with were down to around 1/4 tread left. Around 20,000 I put new Cooper Discoverer A/T3 P275-60R20. They were done with just over 14,000 miles on them. The mechanic went through the truck, everything was within specs. He has had good results with these tires so we figured bad batch of tires. I had the same tires put on. Well, now I have 17,000 and this set is just about done. All tires have been worn evenly and truck is still within specs. The first set of Coopers were rotated ever other oil change and second set was rotated every oil change. I did my best to keep the tires inflated at 40 psi.

Anybody have a solution to this, these 20” tires aren’t cheep.

Yes, even tread wear. Just 40,000 miles early.

I could accept that if that were the issue here.

Roads I travel are mostly in town blacktop, mixed in with normal highway and occasional gravel roads.

I've had three sets of Cooper Discoverer tires on three different trucks over the years and they all wore out wayyyyy too soon.

Even though the front ends of all three trucks were in good order, and the tire inflation pressures were spot on, the tires wore unevenly, required constant balancing and some leaked air through the bead.

I gave up on those tires about 10 years ago and haven't looked back.

Having tires wear out much too soon and with no evidence to reveal why can sometimes be explained by the tires being slightly undersized for the vehicle. Along that same line, if you stand various brands of the "same size" tires side by side, it can be observed that some brands are undersized to begin with; and even within a single brand, higher grade tires tend to put a little larger footprint on the road than a cheaper one. I'd start with confirming the exact size tire that was OE and maybe opting for a premium grade tire.
