My camera is acting up, is there any place that sells just the camera? I keep finding a full oem kit for 250-300.

hmm Im not sure, I know if you get a lock pick you can add an after market camera but your still looking at $300 for that set up. You might go to the dealer and just see and get a part number.

Dealer couldn't give me a number for just the camera. Thing is the camera works one minute and the next it doesn't, screen flashes/distorted. Any other ways to test camera itself out? I've checked all plugs at tailgate end of things.

Part# for camera is 56054164AB. Dealer price is $257, cost at mopar-wholesale is $177.10, truck out of warranty?

Ya, 50k on her now. Only warranty left is powertrain if I remember right.

What sucks is the camera works, than doesn't work. It would truly suck to waste $200. Anyway to test the camera? Ohms/continuity?

If you need the part I can get it at whole sale and ship it to you. I would check the connections at the base of the tailgate. They might be getting pinched or might be exposed. There is a little black door that you open then unclip the plug. Check to besure its making good contact and that its not chewed up. thats what Id do.

Checked plug behind access door aswell as other plug in actual tailgate. I may take wires out of the actual tube in tailgate and see how they look.

I'm new to this site, and I have the same problems with my camera on my 2013 1500 ! I don't know what year your talking about, but I have some numbers for camera's that could possibly help you ! 2013 Ram #56038978AC, Price is 215.00 ! 2012 Ram 56054058AF , @170.00 ! I also have the numbers for the 2012 Charger 56054164AB, 257.00 ! My camera is always very dull and snowy ! That , the dealer told me that thats as good as it gets, when they brought another 2013 Ram with a Camera, and it was the same Crap ! The reason I have the Charger # is my wife drives a 2012 R/T AWD charger, that also has a camera, and that is just crystal clear and bright no matter what the weather ! If anybody else has a problem like I have Complain to your dealer ! Chrysler has substituted an inferior product, for what was a great camera !.....Thanks for listening, I hope some of this can help you !..John Lang

Ya mine is an 11. Same camera except yours has the yellow/red/green lines in it I believe.
