I was curious what % the factory tint is on the new Rams in the back, and what you guys were layering over it to make it a bit darker. ??

Looking at it I'd guess its 20-25% VLT. And if this is the case a light layer of 50% would bring it down to 10-12% so it's dark but you can still see out at night.
Then put 35% on the front windows and 50% on the windshield (for those with medical exemptions) I think would look great.

I know when I had my fronts done, my guy did it at 15% to match. I've been meaning to run the tint meter at work on it to verify...

I used my tint meter 2 days ago to check the factory tint.....it showed 20% for the back windows.

I did 20 over the back glass, 20 on the front windows, and 50 on the windshield. Looks great.

My truck is a standard cab, so only the back glass had the factory deep tint. Virginia only allows 50% on the front doors, so we added a piece of 18% to the back glass to help darken things up. It looks great and isn't too dark to drive.

most people don't tint over the rear windows, just the two front and the back. i had 18 put on mine and its not a perfect match but it looks good.

Thanks for the replies. So it is 20%. So if I add 50% back there that would bring it down to 10%? I'm assuming its just 50% of 20% of light makes it through, so 10%. I don't want 5% that's a bit dark for the look I want.
Then I want to do 50% windshield and 35% front windows (so I won't get stopped and hassled about exemption, don't feel the need to push it). That all combined should be fairly dark and protect me and my interior from UV and TX heat!

Do 20% on the back. It doesn't make that much of a difference. You can still see out it just fine, and it darkens down the cab a lot which helps make the 20% on your sides look better.

50% on the windshield is AWESOME.

I'm planning for 5% on all the side and back windows. I like dark.

Yeah I look forward to 50% on the front...keep my dash from fading and keep heat down.

If I put 20% on the back over 20% then I'd be at 4%...is that how it works? That seems super dark...although I will have a backup camera...

I did 5% on rears and 20% on fronts. Looks great, but I'd like to go a bit darker on the fronts for driving at nite
