On my 10' ram sport I have the factory key fob that has the regular key inside it. I never thought about it before till my buddy said something about it.... what keeps somebody from sticking something in the the ignition where the tip of the fob goes and starting it up? Is their some kind of chip in the fob that sends a signal to the ign switch and if so whats stopping from making it a push button start with a ign switch swap..... and last question is of you fob gets messed up can you use the key to start it. I dont see where it would go. Thanks for the help fellas.

Fob has a chip and the ignition has a sensor for that chip so it won't start unless it senses that chip. Only thing that little key is good for is manually unlocking the doors but the alarm will go off until you start the truck or unlock the truck with the fob
