2017 key fob questions....

Lost a key fob the other day and was looking to get replacement.. Several place started popping up on my feeds.

Toms Keys, North Coast Keyless, Amazon, Ebay etc..

North Coast key in doing a search for key fob after doing the year, model, etcwas asking for the FCC Id number.. on the drop down box it showed GQ44-53T or a GQ4-54T.

I took the fob apart and for the life of me not able to see the number. anyone have to do this before on the 2017 3500 non air suspension laramie and where do you find it??

Or if you have gotten a replacement how, where, how much etc..

Now I was reading in cummins forum there is a way with alfa OBD software to program them.. any tried this method??

Any dealer should be able to replace that fob. I'm not sure but they do it with the VIN No. of your truck. They are expensive but it can be replaced.

Roger that... It seem there are ones on amazon,,( LOL) ,, I can get and using the Alfa OBD app i have and the one I have, can program the new FOB to my truck and take the blank with the key to locksmith to get cut.. Not sure why I need the key part, it just unlocks the door?? you can not start the truck with push button without FOB.

So not sure the advantage of spending the money to have the spare key cut??

Just use the old key with the new fob.

Order fobs online, whip out Alfa…voila!

I ordered one from amazon, think it was simplekey or simply key (something like that) had to have a working key and they send a plug for the obd. new key programed in less than 5 mins without an app or scanner and has worked for over a year without issue.
