After my truck is painted, what kind of clear plastic film do I use to protect the paint from the flare rubbing, and where do I buy it?

Dunno about a film. But mine came with a rubber gasket and seems to do a very nice Job..... however I’m not to concerned about scratches as you can tell lol

Yeah I forget who did the write up I tried searching. It's a clear film that protects the rubber from rubbing against the paint.
My truck is getting a $15k paint job.

I used 8mil door edge protectant . You can get 100' x 1/2"rolls of it off ebay and will have enough to do your doors as well. Just install your flares and use painters tape to outline them, giving your a pattern for the protective film. Works great

Thanks guys! Did you hold the 3m on the truck, mark it with a marker, take it back off and then peel the sticky off and put the file back on?

Grab some painters tape and run it right around the edge of the flares

Take he flares off and you’ll have the painters tape showing you where the edge was

Put you clear edge liner on the inside right to the painters tape

Take the painters tape off and put the flares back on for good

Here’s a few pics of when I did mine...
