They are fake bolts, unless some ******* actually added reals bolts and drilled them into the fender. You'll be fine to take them off.

If you are unlucky your paint is gone where the rubber meets the fender
View attachment 120699 Hello Everyone:
Just bought my Ram last weekend (2012 1500 Crew Cab 4x4). Can anyone tell me if the fender flares come off? Or do they leave holes? Just wondering because I have no plans to lift it or put on bigger wheels. Wanted to see how it would look without them. Any input is appreciated!

I will do this before my Rough country flares goes on, they are still at the paint shopto the forum
Sad but true. @JB1 did use some clear protective film to mitigate this. For the rest of us (at least me) there is sand/dirt/grime etc in there and along the 3m tape line, that is just tragic. I plan on keeping mine on, so I knew it would happen when I installed them (sans JB1's clear film DIY).
I can see why you don't like them, the flares are way too big for the wheels you have on your truck.

I agree. Makes me think there were bigger ones on there at one point.
Stay on this forum long enough, and you'll decide to leave them on and put some bigger wheels on there to fill the space... trust me.
Welcome aboard. It's a good looking truck, for sure. Love the way those sport hoods look.
