I really have a hard time deciding on fender flares for my truck right now. Without a doubt, whatever I put on will be matte black, I can't choose the style. For the longest time I want the bushwacker pockets but now that I realize that my tires are only about 13.5" across and only stick out maybe an 1" from my wheel well, 2.5" flares would be too wide for me. So now I gotta look at the stock style one's but I can't decide on the available 3/4" wide or 1.5" wide flares...

I'm in the same boat. Not quite sure which ones to go with. I'm just not sure how the black will look on the MG. My buddy has a white tacoma with the black bushwackers, and his looks awesome. I just don't want it to look like its unfinished you know? Where are you looking at for the stock style fender flares?

JJ, where did you get yours? and how much do you think painting them would cost if I decided to not do the matte black?

I got mine on eBay, but they are available from the dealer as well.

Paint? Well, I have a painter in my back pocket. LOL But, we are doing some flares for a local customer right now for $225. I would hate to ship painted flares though.

Ya that's what i was thinking too. I want them, i just dont want to order them, and not like the black, then be stuck paying 2x as much for paint.

I would have to see a picture of the side going from the front to back but I think with your set up, the bushwacker pocket flares would look BADASS!!! with your truck. It may seem I am emphasizing the badass a little much but what you have done with your truck, the bumper/tire gate, is exactly! what I want to do to mine. But I'm not sure if I would be able to save up and put down a grand on that bumper anytime soon with everything else I want, practically need, to do to my truck.

My vote is pockets painted matte black especially if you are getting your retro'd headlights with less chrome.

I thnk you may be spot on!! I've always loved the look of the pocket style, and it seems like alot of other guys with colored trucks(other than black) have done this without painting them. I've just never really seen a MG one, let alone an MG with the set up I already have. But you bring up a good point, everything else on my truck is black, and my retro'd satin black lights will be in soon too. I think you talked me into it. lol

The only problem with me getting oem flares is that they come mineral gray where as the bushwackers come matte black...one saves me money over the other. Also, how wide are the oem flares? 1/2 inch?

Glad I can be of help, really. You're the only person so far I've seen do the set up I'd love to have and it's stirred my brain crazy because I am torn between your set up and keeping my bumper, adding a light bar with 4 hid off road lights, and getting a set of retro'd hid fogs matched to my headlights.
