Working on a lego table for the kids. Granted I don't have any type of power saw except a reciprocating, which I wont use. So it's all hammer nails, wood glue, and hand saw.

It's gonna be 4 ft X 2 ft and 28' tall. After I build the table, I'll work on two drawers for legos.

Here's some teaser pics: :********:

Nice dude. My son has this HUGE train table my parents bought him that he never plays with...I might just convert it to a logo table thanks to your idea.

Last christmas I bought the kids like 1-2K assorted legos off ebay for like $80 bucks. Gonna do that each year till we have no where else to put them anymore!

Got the legs done, now working on the frame.

Did you nail the legs together or just glue them? I might have to copy them on a table I've been wanting to build.

On a side note, I have a pair of those clamps. They're great aren't they?

Haha totally agree! These clamps are awesome!

Wood glued them together, clamped them for 30 mins. Then nailed them while they were still clamped. Then unclamped and went onto the next.

Got the frame cut, now just need to make the angle cuts to mate up to each corner. Prolly the hardest cuts to make with this tiny hand saw lolz.

Here's kind of the idea I'm following, but the frame rails will be 1x12's so I can put two deep drawers in later.

^Haha nah, I peaked in lego building in like 6th grade. No way I could do that now lolz

Ok, so the slant cuts with a saw is not ******* possible! There just going to butt up to each other. I'll sand them smooth before we stain it, so it'll be hard to tell where the seam is.

Good idea, when you see the length of the frame side boards though they should be enough. I'm making them tall enough for 2 deep drawers.

If not, I might do that then :waytogo:

Getting a $500 Dewalt 10' sliding double bevel miter saw for this christmas. That should get the job done! Then I just need an air tank and a nail gun and I'll be set!

Going to build a wood working bench for the new house. Then I have a ton of projects to do. Should keep me busy for a while. Going to focus on getting this house ready to rent, and fixing up the new house. Trucks on the backburner till next year. I'll still get a couple minor things done here and there, but that's about it.

Still need to do two drawers, add some filler to the cracks, sand it all down, then stain it.

And.... then do two benches for it :birgits_tiredcoffee

Sounds like my life, LoL.

My dad has the same saw ur refering to. And we have one at work as well. They are pretty damn nice, But both in 12". I myslef have a 10" no name that has been kicking ass for the $109 I spent on it at Sears. A good blade make a HUGE difference. Diablos are awesome! And remember that the more teeth the blade has, the finer the cut will be. Blases with fewer teeth are quicker cuttung, but leave splinters.

Oh, you should be ok then. Ass some poly and it will shine! Sand it good with 80, then 240, then 400. The smother the finish before sealing. The less likely you are to have a ruff finish.

Sorry man. Im not trying to hijack ur thread. Im just in to carpentry. And refinishing/carpentry is basically what I do at work.
