In my resreach, there are lots of foam cleaning guns/devices. I have read about many devices that worked well 2-3times, then they didn't.

What foamer do you have that works well?

How long has it worked for you?

Hose or pressure washer?

What foamer device would you recommend?

I own a Greenworks 2300psi electric pressure washer I bought from Lowes on sale for 200 dollars. I used the first one three times then it died. I returned for an exchange. I also bought the foam cannon from Lowes. The foam cannon has worked as one should. I use Adams soap or Meguiars Gold Class soap. My other Greenworks electric pressure washer has been in operation for at least 7 years, but only 1700psi.

If you want the best, MTM PF 22. Not cheap but built using high quality materials. This foam cannon is available on Amazon and other detailing sites. I am unable to change the orifice to 1.1mm while gives thick shave cream foam.

I have the Adams foam gun. I've used it 2-3 times and each time I run out of solution before I'm even half way done spraying the truck. I'm sure I'm not doing something right.

I use a riobi 3000 psi pressure washer and a twinkle star foam cannon. Then blow dry with a 180mph leaf blower. 20200425_132519.jpg

Seems that the best result are from much higher PSI pressure washers than what i have.

I use a cheap one from Amazon with pressure washers, gas and electric. It’s OK with the electric and outstanding with the gas PW. I had to clean the orifice once after it clogged because I used wash with beads in it by mistake.

There is not really much to go wrong other than a clogged Venturi or orifice, it’s a simple device with no moving parts. I wonder how many fail and get tossed just because of a clog the user didn’t know to clean out? The cheap ones come with little to no documentation.

Seems most folks I know are talented with a couple of hobbies making or fixing things. And I also know folks should not have tools.

I buy broke stuff frequently.

Which foam gun are you using? I have the foam cannon from Adams, which I use with a power washer (gas, 3500psi). The cannon works great and completes my suv with soap left over. Call Adams they can probably help dual that in.

I didn't want to drag out the pressure washer every time I washed the truck. I got a Gilmour foam sprayer for the hose. I use 3 ounces of soap then fill with water. Works well enough for my needs. Going on two years now, no issues.

I've used the same gilmour for probably 8 years now. It works pretty well, you don't get"heavy" shaving cream like foam but you do get plenty to keep the wash media lubricated to prevent marring. Especially important on my finicky black G37.

Recently went to a small Ryobi pw along with a knock off of the mtm foam cannon. Using Adams ultimate foam wash it leaves foam that actually sticks to the car. I like that because I feel that the dwell time will loosen or completely removed a lot of dirt. Uses more soap, and I found out it's not really "precise" (had to re-rinse a few sections when foam overspray got on them) but it does make a difference.

There is not necessarily a need for a big gas powered pw either. I picked up a $99 Ryobi 1800 psi/1.2 gpm. Swapped a smaller orifice into the foam cannon and am happy with the results. The Ryobi is small and light and can be carried like a suitcase instead of dragged on wheels (it has wheels too, if you want)

Unless it’s a garage kept vehicle with little to no use, foaming then spraying it off and drying isn’t really washing or removing much. One of the reasons I stopped using my foam cannon. I can get just the same lubrication from suds from a quality soap using a two bucket method and it takes much less time, especially with a quality pre rinse!
