Anybody have any ideas to improve this? I know in my 2004 Ram, the fold flat was steel. Now in my 2015 its a flimsy cardboard feeling setup. I used it when transporting my 3 65lb dogs on road trips. The passenger's side portion is loose at the mounting point and doesn't really have anything left for the screws to bite and hold.

I like the idea but the execution is not very sturdy. I need something that i can switch from people to dog mode easily without having to carry a sheet of plywood everywhere.

I know I have seen a thread were somebody bought a used truck that didn't have the fold flat floor installed so he built one identical in size and function using 1/2" plywood. Since you already have the fold flat, you most likely could use the same hardware, hinges and legs.

Thanks, as i said on that thread, it'd be nice if a company had a cnc router table that could knock these out as a kit. Me and my father in law can handle it though. Even though he'd want to try to make it out of 1" shipping container floor! o_O

Yep, now there above is a fine helpful fellow. I asked for and received his plans for a flat floor made out of plywood. A VERY nice job it was too.
So I modified his plan because I do not need to have passengers in my Quad Cab Warlock. My floor has less folds and hinges. I used 1 sheet of 1/2" plywood and a couple of piano hinges for mine. Glued down some old carpet and used 1"X2" scrap wood for the edge guards and voila!

Here it is in the truck. I did not secure it to the back wall yet, we'll see if it shifts around. The little boards are just bradded down, Will get some wood screws when I go to town.

It will fold up and slide out of the truck without much trouble if I need it to, and the back seat will come down with it in place. That higher floor might be nice if I had some smaller-sized passengers some day. Easy job with just a skill saw and battery screwdriver for power tools. Happy trails!

Yes. You can take the front outer bolt out of each end seat bracket and fasten the FFF ends there. Now if its a 60/40 FFF instead of one piece floor and your 2015 doesnt have a 60/40 seat, you will wonder how to fasten the inside brackets of the 2 FFF pieces. If you look where they should attach on the carpet, you will find a carpet cutout you remove and 2 bolt hole indents. Push them in with your finger and you'll find 2 bolt holes there for the front holes on the inside brackets. I wasnt happy having just the front holes of those inside brackets fastened. The metal seemed a bit flimsy to me so I drilled holes for the back brackets in the floor, ran bolt & washer through then a washer nut & loctite under the truck. If you do that keep in mind the gas tank is 4-6 inches below. I just made sure to only run the drill bit about an inch deep. You can see my setup in the pics. Note the middle brackets just had the one bolt installed at that point. I added the back bolts the next day. My truck is a 2018 & the floor is a 2017 but the guy also had a 60/40 2012 floor for sale & it was exactly the same. 2009 being 4th gen as well I believe its the same.

There’s one available at a local yard so I may do this or go the build one route. My dogs are hell on that flimsy paper board deal.
