evic #'s and mileage
New guy, first post. Just put a down payment on a 6.4 2500.
Wide range of mpg and dash mpgs not matching isnt a RAM only thing. I had a 2012 and 2013 CC F150 ecoboosts. both 4x4, one 3.31 the other 3.73. The 3.31 averaged 17.0 at 80, the 3.73 15.5. The dash was about 1mpg off. E10 gas would drop the numbers about 1MPG or there about.
There was always a lot of unhappy EB owners who drank the mpg coolaide then we're mad when their crew cab, 6.5' bed with 4.10 FX4 axle and cooper stt tires never got close to sticker at 80mph. Well...duh! "but I've owned xxxx model sedans over the years and always got sticker or better!" Buddy, your sedan was same size, same tires, same axle ratio, etc... as the vehicle xxxx sent to have tested. And of course, it was the manufacturer lying to them even though they didn't do the testing (which is a joke)
My wife also can't get as good of mpg as I do. She just is a little heavier on the go pedal and brakes.
Going to Ram 6.4l 2500 for they extra payload. I will miss the EB power. It rarely downshifted. Instead of kicking down to the powerband the turbos just added more at the rpm you were at. Lol. Throw the wife and kids, dog luggage and my jumbo rear in there isnt much left for trailer tongue weight In the F150.
Im hoping for 13-14 mixed. but I've never had the luck with MPG some people claim with the same truck, however I've also never returned as bad of numbers as some either. If it can do 15-16 empty on the HWY I will be pleased. Out here in rural MT we have 4 stop lights within a 50 mile radius, 59 miles to mcdonalds, 75 to walmart, 90 to starbucks. City driving is pretty relaxed and Hwy is not bumper to bumper. Just set the cruise, crank the tunes and cruise.
Do people really see some of these numbers with their cummins?? My father has a 2012 dually that averaged 12 before he just spent $4k on tune, exhaust, and delete to get 16.
PS: I'm a mopar dude at heart. I have a 76 warlock and a 68 baracuda.
