I am looking to get get a new front bumper for my truck the current one on the slt is chrome and I hate it so looking to order a new one. I don't want to get an iron one that is also a bull guard, I have a bull guard on there currently and like it as it is I am not a huge fan of the whole iron bumper price tag love the look just don't want to spend the amount they run. So 2 questions would this bumper fit the slt model?

Or does the sport bumper fit the slt?

DURAFLEX® 108115 - Dodge Ram 2009-2012 MP-R Front Bumper

Or is anyone trying to sell one that will fit my truck that isn't chrome that I could either have paint matched or already matches the black?

I think youd need new clips for that bumper.

you could always get your bumper sandblasted and painted though

You would need all the sport support brackets and foam bumper filler

If you get a sport bumper, you can pretty much say goodbye to a brush guard, they have to be able to utilize the tow hook location. I want a brush guard bad, but limited because of the bumper.

I was told that if I sandblasted the bumpers and had them painted it would start to chip shortly after. Is this incorrect?

Sandblasted the chrome or base ones? No, not if they are painted correctly with automotive paint. Hell, even if they are painted, flexicoat will prevent cracking. Road chips are bound to happen behind semi's, but I've seen many people paint chrome and I've even done so myself. You've just really gotta make some grooves for the paint to stick to. I hate to see a good chrome bumper wasted, so my recommendation is always to get the base model grey ones and have those painted and sell yours... Or look into the TRX ones

My Outdoorsman has a steel painted bumper with fog lights and tow hooks. I think its the same as the Chrome one. Anything on the front that is painted will get some chips on it, especially if you do a lot of highway driving. Nothing a bottle of touch up paint won't take care of though.

I think that the painted metal bumpers looks better than the plastic sport ones. They look more truck and less mustang

I am up in the air if I just have the chrome bumper sandblasted and then paint it myself or buy the base model bumper and paint that myself. Don't really want to drop the cash then try selling the chrome bumpers. I like the bumper it just doesn't have the fog light holes and its chrome. So as long as I have the chrome bumper sandblasted and then painted it will look good? I wish I had the fog light holes but not the end of the world unless I find a base model bumper cheap or someone looking to sell a bumper.

It won't crack if the paint has grooves to stick to.. Just have it sandblasted and professionally painted so it matches. Can't cost that much to have it done. Or plastidip it to see if you'll like it enough.
