Hey guys
I have a 2012 Ram 2500. Is anyone doing anything special to mount their front license plate? Mine just mounts to the two holes in the bumper and gets bent up through the carwash etc. don't want a big chrome plate frame. Does Mopar have a plastic frame or bracket that Im missing to provide some support?

Mine had a black plastic bracket thing the plate sat in. I removed it day one since we don't have front plates here.

I got one off a car at a junk yard and cut it to fit 2014 2500.

Far as I can tell the 2500-3500's do not have a dedicated mount bracket, just the two holes in the bumper.

Not the first person to complain about it.

I wish all states would do the rear plate only thang. I never did understand why the law needed the ones on the front?

Utah has a front plate requirement but everyone ignores it. It is the most unenforced law I am aware of. You don't even need it for the safety inspection which I find amazing.

My 1500 only had the predrilled holes on the front bumper. No mounting hardware was included with mine. Not that I plan to install the thing anyway.

It makes sense to have them front and back. I understand the reasoning behind it, but I also hate having one. A lot of toll roads use cameras for fees, red light cams, and even dash cams work a lot better if you can see a front plate. For legal reasons they make perfect sense, aesthetically nope.

Mine came with a stock mounting plate.

Two bolts with round heads, clear plastic cover. Piece of plastic batting between as to not scratch the bumper.

Mine came with the bracket in a plastic bag. No front plates required in PA. If it had it on there i would likely take it off.:Big Laugh:
