It's an incredibly elusive piece. I've seen one installed and had to order a truck to see that one on a 1500. It's on my 2024 warlock

I tried to order one standalone to install on my 2016. Always on backorder

More common on 2500.

Not cheap, guess be big investment on 1500 for those like to get rugged off road.

The orientation in that oe "shield" (for 1500) makes it look like maybe it's an exhaust heat shield rather than protection against penetration or abrasion from hazards off-road.

In Arizona I never much worried about the fuel tank on riverbottom or ledge obstacles, the bodywork was more likely to get eaten up by that kind of terrain than the fuel tank if I could clear it or drag it on the front suspension and the transfer case skid.

Boreal forest trails sometimes have submerged sticks and I worry about fuel tank penetration sometimes, maybe not as much as I worry about tire penetration.

Lots of hopping over trees and wash out rivers etc up here in Canada on the west coast.
I appreciate everyone's input.

I'm almost certain there was never a Mopar skidplate for any 1500 fuel tank. I've seen a thread (like 8-10 years ago) in which somebody adapted the Power Wagon mid-chassis guard under a 1500 fuel tank and it looked pretty clean. The guard in that location is a row of tubular bars rather than a panel, it is not a fuel tank shield on Power Wagons. It prevents log and rock intrusion without supplying a "shelf" for muck to collect on. That would not protect against sharp pointy logs aimed straight at the tank.

I would see about adapting the 5th gen. My 2024 BTS has one factory.
