Yep, I can see that. Its the reason I have not pulled the trigger on the tile yet.Yup, that is definitely another option that I looked into, but I decided to go the epoxy route for a few reasons. Cost is a little cheaper if you compare to high quality tiles, liquids getting in-between the tiles/being able to spray down the garage floor, and wanting something a little more fancy pants looking. Don't get me wrong, the tiles have their benefits such as ease of installation, replacement of damaged tiles or changing design, and being able to take it with you when you move. In the end, I felt like I was leaning more towards epoxy. Ask me which way I'd lean once I'm done with all the elbow grease lol
You joke... but we had the builder remove the coat closet and put in a 'powder room' in-between the laundry room and garage. When he came back with price, it wasn't too bad and I jokingly said to my fiance that I could just put a ****** in the garage. Surprisingly, she was contemplating the idea, but I nixed it so we had the extra bathroom for guests and to not bother people when they're sleeping.Bathroom with a stand up ******!!
Haha, of course, lots of pictures along the way. The floor is one piece of the puzzle.of course pictures must follow when you're done or we'll string you up by your shock tower nuts!
I hear ya, we didn't have this one built. It was an inventory home that they were using as a display and we just had them change a few things. If I were to have a builder make a home from scratch, it would cost a fortune. It's nuts what they charge for some things. We did price out a build a few years ago and they were saying things like a single recessed light in the shower would cost $1K... I know the fixture has to be GFCI protected and rated for moisture application... But $1K... Really????so many things I'd do differently if we built again. 3rd time is the charm, right? I did get smart though and put a drain in the center of the 2-car bay, and water. also put a set of stairs in to get to the basement from the garage as well as from the house. I only gave up 4 feet of space in a spare bedroom.

Haha, yup, there is technically NO guest bedroomIMHO a small guest room is best---I don't want people to get too comfortable staying there.

Agree, been house searching for awhile and got sick and tired of every listing saying there was an "oversized garage" if it was just a two car garage. 95% of the garages were too short for my truck period. This one is considered larger. The builder did make it longer, but it's still only 600 sqft for 3 car and barely fits my truck with 24 inch deep cabinets.I have almost decided if we ever build again that I'll have to have a detached garage(shop). It's just to confining to work with what some builders think is an adequate "oversized" attached garage. Of course it can't be in a neighborhood.

J, just sharing a thought. My floor needs to be repainted. Done in 2005. You know, there are many options. I am considering interlocking non adhesive garage floor tile. There are several to choose from. Focusing on the larger square size, rated for floor jacks, lifts and chemical. If I do just the floor area with out removing my shelving, the 3 car area will run me about $1600. Of course more than a liquid finish but,,,,realy nice benefits.
I've been looking at it for the past hour and a half to try and get some techniques for application and scrolled through a lot of drive lolback away from that site... it will do nothing but cost you more money![]()
When you use several kits to complete a large floor they recommend you mix the color portions together to blend them prior to mixing in the hardener.I looked into the box store epoxy kits pretty hard and determined that it just wasn't worth it. Kind of a "you get what you pay for" deal. Even done well, a lot only last 5 years and this one is a 20 year prorated warranty. Another problem with the box kit is blending colors in a big area, which I have seen first hand issues of this application issue. Meaning, if you do three kislts in your garage of gray, there's a noticeable pigment variation between the three sections.
Makes sense and so simple. Guess that's on the installers for not reading directions lol. When you use several kits to complete a large floor they recommend you mix the color portions together to blend them prior to mixing in the hardener.
