Has anyone used one of these? Only saw one thread ever and the OP never reported back. I will be taking several trips to the beach this summer, and with the two kids being in the back, I would want a net of some kind to cover the stuff in the back since i'm paranoid about things flying out at highway speeds. has anyone used one of these?

1) my biggest hangup right now is what size to get. the sizing chart says that for a 7' bed (closest on the chart to what i have) and cargo staying below the bed rails, to use the small net which is 4.75' x 6'. That should fit front to back of the bed nicely, while allowing for a small arc and cargo underneath. but i also don't want to "outgrow" its usefulness, so should i opt for the medium size, which is 6.75' x 8'? that would allow for more future use growth, but may be too large for my every-day application.

2) which version would you recommend? they have a full mesh version, and a heavy duty version with straps built into the tarp (which is the one i initially discovered that got me thinking about this.) both versions are linked below. again, i don't know that i would never need anything heavy duty, but the HD version has more attachment grommets allowing for different sizing adjustments, and you know what they say, overkill is underrated.

here are both versions. what are your thoughts, guys?

Cargo net option

Heavy duty option

Are you more worried about driving to the beach or on the beach. Maybe a hard folding tonneau cover would be better

Both really. I’d love a cover, but my Sport Bar isn’t compatible with one. I’m also thinking to keep it simpler and maybe get a small cargo net that will keep objects pinned to the front of the bed up against the cab like a cargo net in a trunk of a car does. That may also serve my purposes as well. The beach chairs and canopy I’m not too worried about. But things like my camping grille and my kids beach toys need to be secured. A simple cargo net option would do what I need to do without having to tie everything down individually.
