Grille Replacement

I just completed my first mod by changing out the grille on my RAM Sport. I know many are not fans of the “pig snout” grille, but I really like the look and think it refreshes the front end of the truck.

I’ve also bought all the flat black emblems to replace the chrome ones. But, the chrome is actually starting to grow on me...

I wouldn't replace those side emblems.... just de-badge that sucker!! It looks so clean without the badges on the side. That grill is great looking IMO.

They are the RAM letters from a Rebel painted black. I screwed an insert from a Rebel grill and attached the letters.

the shutters have nothing to do with swapping the grille out. The shutter mechanism and the grille are not connected in any way.

They were no issue at all. The removal of the old grill and the installation of the new grille took less than 20 minutes.

The install was very easy. There are 4 bolts on the top of the grille, two tabs on the sides and 3 or 4 tabs on the bottom. The total time to remove the old grille and install the new one was around 15 minutes. You also have the remove the flexible cover on top of the grille to get access, but it is only 4 tabs.

I actually bought it from another forum member. He installed a chrome grille on his Sport. I was very fortunate in that it was already the same color as my truck, he was located fairly close to me, and he offered to meet me halfway (90 miles) to pick it up.
