Grinding noise

Hey all. I have a 2015 sport that's about 2 months old. Today I remote started the truck and got in a few sec after.. I noticed a grinding noise behind the dash that went away after a few sec.. Re started it a few times and it did it again. Never noticed that before .. Any ideas ?

Might be the HVAC blend door or actuator from the sounds of it.

Thanks.. Didn't know what it was. Is that something I should have checked or is it normal? All of the climate controls worked fine

If it happens again, I would say take it in. I am sorta spit-balling this as past experience on other vehicles usually lead me to the HVAC when you start hearing grinding noise under the dash.

Most vehicles use plastic gears and actuators for the HVAC and that is what usually gives the grinding sound when the gears skip or grind.

Thanks again .. That's def it, I found a video online of the exact same noise . If it doesn't do any damage I'll just leave it . Kinda ticked that something like that would happen with a brand new truck

well just had some running around to do and it didn't do it .. Remote start and key started the truck .. No noise

It's probably still under warranty, so take it back to the dealer and have them check it out.
