Recently purchased a 2014 1500 Laramie Limited and really want a hard, painted tonneau cover (for looks) but I think I will have a need to haul something once every two to three weeks (that's a guess at this point) and fear removing the cover that often would become a real pain.
Do any of you routinely remove a hard tonneau cover, and, if so, would you buy a hard cover again?
Thanks.

I have a Leer hard cover on my 2013. They look great and keep things in the bed dry and secure. However, you can not haul anything taller than about 24". If you have to haul anything on a regular basis I would recommend that you get a cab high shell, such as a Snug Top, Leer, or another name brand shell. I haven't taken mine off, but when the dealer had to adjust it, it always took at least 2 guys to pick it up and move it around. I would not purchase another one unless I had another way to haul stuff, like a small /large trailer.

I had an undercover se on my last truck. Although it was nice, it was a pain in the a$$ to remove for big stuff. For the money you will spend in a hard top, look at the rolling tops. That's what I plan to go to down the road.

My Pace Edwards Bedlocker is the bomb...and is electrically rolled in and out with a key FOB.

And the Undercover is probably the lightest cover on the market, by a good margin. I have one and love it. But, if I needed to remove it every couple weeks I would have went in a different direction. Removing it every couple months wouldn't be an issue. But every couple weeks would probably get old.

I have a tri-fold cover and I like it. But sometimes I wish I had a harder cover. I have a black truck, so I don't want to spend $1k on a fiber glass one. I have no problems finding a cover that is plastic. Any idea on what that would run for?
