Head unit recommendations

Would like some input on what is a good head unit for a 2013 base system. I have already upgraded all the speakers but would like ease of adding a sub and amp or amps down the road. I want something that will. Retain the use of my XM subscription as well as the factory XM antenna. Also I want to add steering wheel audio controls and have those work as well and be able to use it as Bluetooth calling. Will the Mike's on the mirror still work or does it have its own built-in microphone on the head unit.

Why not just upgrade to the OEM RA4 8.4 AN Radio ?

you will get much better sound and functionality from an aftermarket. factories have come a long way, but if he plans to expand with amps its much better with an aftermarket.

OP last i knew you can not transfer a subscription from the factory to an aftermarket unless you are paying monthly for it. No you will not be able to utilize the factory mic, yes a new radio will come with one.

Touch screen yes. Looking at something good. Have found a pioneer i think its an avis-7200 something. Alpine and kenwood both make one comporable

Navigation is not necessary but if its there its there. Would like to keep with alpine if price is right but not necessary as i have alpine everything else except 3.5 speakers

^^ they all have their pros/cons what i would say is try and find a retailer near you and go play with them. you may find one is easier to use than another

I would say best buy is the only retailer around here.

Best Buy will sell the Kenwood and Pioneer, but I doubt the Alpine. Not sure if they will have the new Kenwoods on display yet.
