Hey guys I have a 15 5.7L I have now gone through 3 sets of OEM manifold bolts, replaced 2x now dealership will not replace after less than a year and 30k miles. I am actually embarrassed to start my truck in a public place with how bad the leak is. I'm sure it has to do with crap OEM parts warping as well. Just wish for the price you pay you would get a better complete product. Also doesn't help I got screwed on my extended warranty by the dealership I purchased the truck from.

What are some good options for:
a. manifold bolts
b. headers that will not require full exhaust redo

@RamCares are these parts covered under power train warranty? I am considering a 2019 redesign but still need to get this issue fixed.

Just have your existing manifold resurface flat and use a Remflex gasket (#6022). This should resolve you issue for good.

The manifold are already warped so when they install them with new bolts there's an extra stress on them and will eventually break again. The resurfacing will make them straight again and the Remflex gasket will help absorb a small amount of warping id they do warp a little again.

Any idea what resurfacing will cost

isnt the 15.my part of the 5 year 100k powertrain?. my 14 just ran out of that in november of 18. so unless 15 was the year they went aeay from the 5/100k, i would have a different dealer do it right on their dime. and in the mean time, start saving for LT. Unless you go for a new 19

I'm trying to confirm if it's 5/100k I thought it was but the dealership I work with is claiming not.

Are these gaskets better than the stock gaskets? If they are, would it be recommended to change over to the Remflex as a precaution and maybe change out the bolts to something better? I have 14k miles on my truck and don't want to have to worry about warp manifolds and broken bolts.

Go to another dealer. Verify your power train warranty. If you are still covered have them do it for free.

I wouldn't say that they are better, because the stock gasket are doing their job just fine. They will help with small variation, but will probably not cure the manifold warping issue. I used the Remflex for an extra peace of mind.

The best plan of action is to wait until it start leaking and have it fix under warranty, but have them resurface your old manifold (not new ones). If they don't want to pay for the resurfacing pay for it as it will save you time/money in the long run.

You are covered under the 5/100k powertrain. I have had my 15 in twice for manifold bolts, both times with over 80k on the odometer.

After multiple calls to multiple dealers I finally found a dealership that is going to fix the bolts under the power train warranty, and look at the manifold for any possible warping. Although it is OEM, I don't think I will have the truck another 30k at this point. It will be a fix for now. I will let everyone know

5 broken bolts later 2 studs, truck is back to no exhaust leak. The dealership offers 2yr / unlimited warranty on the parts they have replaced. Hopefully this will do the trick. They did not see warping in the manifold itself, still hard to believe though.

Ok guys I have a 2015 1500 5.7 with 60000. At what point should I be concerned. Just daily driving. 30 mins or so at a time.

I found a good deal locally on JBA silver ceramic shorty headers and had them installed with Stage 8 bolts. Probably a bit more expensive than having the bolts replaced but I'll never have to worry about it again. The JBAs are CARB legal if emissions is a concern.
