My truck came with HID housings on it already, but they are all scratched to **** with light scratches all over the face. Is there any kind of compound I can use to clean-up/get rid of some of these? I do realize that all of them will not disappear.

I'm not sure how bad your lights are, but your local autoparts store should sell some headlight lens restorations kits. 3M makes the best, IMO.

I converted my truck to Sport headlights, but me not wanting to spend $200 on a set of sport headlights (more important things to buy for the truck, and I am going to be doing a retrofit sooner or later anyway with NEW sport housings) I had a set of crusty sport headlights I picked up from the local U-pull for $30. Got a 3M restoration kit and these are my results:

Granted, doing this does not ensure your lights will last forever. I've had mine done for about a month or two, they look good still, but you can tell they aren't new.

Same difference, you sand out the discoloration, as well as scratches.

Should work well for you as well.

Yep i do, sand the scratches out, wipe this stuff on, and let cure for 24hrs and they look like new

How they started, something got on the lens and ate the clear off in a square, weird for sure

After various stages of sanding with many different gritts of sandpaper i had this, and this is what i applied the wipe new to....

I used the Meguiars Heavy Duty Two Step Headlight Restoration Kit on my 2006 BMW last month and it worked great. It was about 25.00 at AutoZone took about 15-20 minutes a light.

600 to sand through the old bad clear coat, then worked my way up from 1000, to 1500, to 2000, then finally 3000 and then applied the wipe new, the problem with 90% of the headlight restore kits is that they either mask the bad area or get you half way there because they have you sand then polish but you never actuallY seal your lights, the wipe new seals the light with a new clear coat, if you dont seal your lights they will be nasty again within a few weeks to maybe around a few months
