New to the forum and to dodge. Been scouring this forum for days and wow there's a lot i want to do. I just got a 2017 1500 tradesman with the night package. The headlights are reflectors and not bright at all, also the reverse lights aren't bright either. From my digging I've found a lot of people use the alpha rex set up. Is there any other brand that's good besides them? Should i keep the reflectors and just change the bulbs to leds? The idea is to change my entire truck over to led. I've seen the posts about buying the obd II and the other program to be able to change the lighting settings and other stuff on the truck which i plan on doing. Trying to find the best way to go without spending a grand on alpha rex. Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance. Happy to have found this forum, lots of great info here.

I'd recommend Fahren LED bulbs for your reflectors. They're bright, error-free and adjustable.
At $40/pair even with quads you're only $80 in vs hundreds for new headlights.
Look for CANBUS-safe when shopping reverse & other bulbs and you won't need AlfaOBD.

Projectors aren't necessarily brighter than reflectors, in fact I think the efficiency #s are lower, but its easier to produce a crisp cutoff making a slightly unfocused LED replacement bulb less problematic glare wise.

If you have a Amazon prime account, most of the LED products list free returns, so its risk free to try a few. Just remember to clock them so the ribbon/cable tail is at 12 or 6 o clock, so that the LEDs face left and right in the housing. Most aftermarket LEDs have adjustment for this and are advertised as "clockable".

Thank you guess the bulbs are the route to go. Was gonna go with the alfaobd anyway to unlock some features and make another key. They only gave me one

I second the use of FAHREN bulbs. I have them in my high and low beams. Couldn’t be happier with the light output in my reflector style lights
